Rape charges ruled out for child-killer Philpott
Derbyshire Police said no charges would be brought against Philpott in relation to the allegations due to “insufficient evidence”.
In a statement, the force said: “Derbyshire Constabulary is not currently investigating any allegations against Michael Philpott.

The allegations came to light during the investigation into the fatal house fire at Philpott’s home in Derby, which killed six of his children.
Jade Philpott, 10, and her brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jesse, six, Jayden, five, and Duwayne, 13, all died in the blaze in May 2012.
The house in Victory Road, Allenton, has since been demolished.

Hide AdPhilpott was jailed for life at Nottingham Crown Court in April after being convicted of their manslaughter.
He was told he would serve a minimum of 15 years in prison for setting the petrol-fuelled blaze.
His wife, Mairead Philpott, was also convicted of manslaughter along with their friend, Paul Mosley. Both were told they would serve half their 17-year sentences.
Philpott became known nationally because of television exposure over his lifestyle as a benefits claimant with a large family, including appearing alongside former politician Anne Widdecombe.
