Curtain finally comes down on theatre’s former home

After welcoming countless theatre-goers and hosting thousands of performances, the curtain has finally fallen at the former home of Hull Truck Theatre.

Contractors have started demolition work at the site in Spring Street which was home to Hull Truck for more than 25 years.

The building, a converted Methodist church hall, first opened in 1970 and was initially known as Humberside Theatre. It hosted plays by touring companies and local playwrights such as Alan Plater.
