Guiseley 0 Macclesfield 3: Dickinson’s penalty miss caps off poor night’s work for Lions

LIAM DICKINSON: Guiseley striker missed a second-half penalty in their home defeat.

Guiseley suffered their second home defeat in a row, coming off second-best to Macclesfield Town, writes Tom Feaheny.

While the weather may have been miserable, there was still a good attendance with over 600 fans present.

But with heavy rain falling during the game, both sides saw their early attempts of their attacking game affected, although that soon changed for the visitors.

Guiseley fell behind on the 24th minute when Paul Turnbull, curled a free-kick past the wall and into the back of the net.

It was 2-0 to the away side just before half-time when Danny Whitehead hit a shot from just over 30 yards which went in.
