Sam set for spin in Stayers's race
JEDD O'KEEFFE'S stable star Sam Spinner could reappear in the three-mile Grade One Ryanair Stayers' Hurdle '“ the race before the Grand National.
The Leyburn-trained horse enjoyed high-profile successes at Haydock and Ascot before finishing fifth in last month’s Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
A slow early pace did not suit Joe Colliver’s mount in a race won by the Willie Mullins-trained Penhill under Paul Townend.
Possible opponents at Aintree on Saturday for Sam Spinner, owned by Caron and Paul Chapman, include Cheltenham second Supasundae who is trained in Ireland by Jessica Harrington.
