Arrest after serious assault
South Yorkshire Police said yesterday that the incident is thought to have taken place at around 7.30am on Friday, November 23, at an address on Spencer Street in the town.
Officers said that as a result a man had sustained serious injuries to his chest but gave no further details of what had happened or if a weapon had been used.

Hide AdA force spokesman said: “Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with this incident and he has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“It is believed a group of males were seen in the area of Spencer Street and Wath Street at the time and police would like to speak to them as they may hold vital information and be able to assist officers with their enquiries.”
Anyone with any information or who believes they may have witnessed the incident was urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 175 of the 23 November 2012.
