Man found injured in road held over murder
Police said yesterday they were treating the murder of the woman, who has not yet been named, as a “domestic incident.”
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said that a post-mortem examination, which took place yesterday, found that the woman died from a “severe knife attack.”

Hide AdThey added: “The man in hospital, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder, sustained knife injuries and remains critical in hospital.
“Detectives are investigating this case as a domestic incident between a couple and are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.”
Emergency services were called to an address in Herries Road, Shirecliffe, just before 5pm on Tuesday, June 4.
There they found the body of a woman in her 20s, while a man of the same age was found in the street with serious knife injuries to his chest.

Hide AdHerries Road, a main route to the city’s Northern General Hospital, was cordoned off after the body was discovered.
The police spokesman added: “Anyone with information to assist the murder investigation should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.”
