Their return to Championship action following the government-enforced coronavirus suspension represents an opportunity for the Owls to draw a line under what has been a dismal run of form in 2020 and make a fresh start.
Prior to lockdown, Garry Monk's men had won just once in 10 league outings, their play-off hopes seemingly evaporating as they plummeted down the table.
A humiliating 5-0 mauling at Brentford in their last fixture before 2019/20 was halted by Covid-19 left Monk "embarrassed" and his team in 15th place.
Currently eight points outside the top-six with just nine matches remaining, Wednesday have a huge task on their hands if they are to force their way back into the promotion picture, but they do still have something to play for.
Here's a look at the players in contention for a place in Monk's match-day squad when the Owls re-take the Hillsborough pitch.
