IT'S a frustration encountered by business travellers and tourists across the globe.
Now a Yorkshire woman is hoping to prevent infuriating episodes encountered when taking what should be a relaxing shower.
Jill Parkinson has invented a portable shower head holder for use in bathrooms where showers have no wall fixings.
Shuc aims to stop the need for showering with one hand while holding the shower head, and Miss Parkinson claims the device, which sticks to tiles, suits 90 per cent of shower heads on the market. Miss Parkinson, of Dewsbury, has secured a patent for her Shuc device and is aiming to secure 10,000 orders by the end of 2007.
The 42-year-old is aiming to access markets including holiday and travel, mother and baby care and pet care.
Miss Parkinson said she had come up with the idea for Shuc after spending years staying in hotels around the world when she worked in corporate sales for British Airways.
"I found myself checking into hotels and into rooms where there was a shower hose but nowhere to hang it," she said.
"Showers took longer and longer and it was a real pain. That's what really drove me to get into this area."
Miss Parkinson left BA in 2001 and established a sales and marketing firm, but during this time began to develop the idea for a shower head holder.
After collaborating with a design company, the Shuc was developed and has been patented.
It is being sold via the internet but Miss Parkinson, who has established an office in Leeds, hopes to tie-up deals with high street retailers over the coming months.
