Appointments: Two directors appointed as Deloitte unveils promotions

Business advisory firm Deloitte has appointed two new directors to its Leeds office.
Nicola Frampton and Anthony Matthews will be based at the firm's City Square offices in enterprise risk services and audit respectively.

Six members of staff have also been made partners. Neil Hargreaves, Dan Butters, Dave Johnson, Tom Rowbotham, Simon Prinn and Adam Waller will all be based at the firm's City Square office in Leeds.

  • Financial management group MGR has appointed Chris McGowan as its new head of tax.

    McGowan will divide his time between the London and Sheffield offices of the firm which specialises in the media sector.

  • Global risk and insurance firm Aon Risk Services has promoted Chris Dale to branch director for Sheffield within the company's commercial insurance division.

    Dale, who has worked at the firm for six years, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Sheffield office with an emphasis on growing revenue through the development of existing client accounts, as well as winning new business.

  • Accountants and business advisers BDO Stoy Hayward has strengthened its Leeds-based corporate finance team with the promotion of Jason Whitworth to partner.

    Whitworth, who joined the team in 2004, aims to continue expanding the team which comprises four partners and 22 staff.

  • Scania is reinforcing and developing its organisational structure with the appointment of Geoff Bell as regional executive director for the North East

    Bell, who is Scania's sales director for bus, coach and engines, will also adopt the role of regional sales director for the area. Working with him in his new post is Gary Archer, Scania's aftersales director for the region.

  • Towergate Risk Solutions is strengthening its retail insurance broking team in the North following the appointment of Jonathan Webb as regional managing director and Darren Rowe as managing director of TRS Leeds.

    Webb steps up to the role following two years as TRS's Leeds managing director. Rowe joins from his previous role as managing director of Towergate Fareham and Camerasure.

  • Spy gadgets company Datong has appointed Dean Blood to the board of directors as chief operating officer. He takes up the position on September 15. Blood will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, enabling the chief executive officer and the board to implement the next phase of the company's growth strategy, including acquisitions.

  • Shepherd Construction has appointed Phil Greer to managing director for its eastern division in Leeds.

    Greer, who has worked for Shepherd for 29 years, will also hold a seat on its executive management board.

  • The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has appointed Geoff White as head of public policy and communications for the North of England.

    White will manage communications as well as policy and public affairs issues across three regional development agency areas: the North East, the North West and Yorkshire and the Humber.

  • The Leeds office of property experts Colliers CRE has continued to bolster its healthcare department with the appointment of Chris Saberton as a director and Ian Frost as a senior surveyor.

    Saberton was previously at GLP Taylors in Leeds for 15 years where he worked predominantly in the healthcare department on valuations and appraisals

    Frost has 27 years of property valuation experience. His role will encompass both the primary and long-term care sectors of the healthcare market in the North.

  • Barclays Commercial has appointed Jon Hunter as relationship director.

    Hunter will responsibility for developing new business for businesses with a turnover in excess of £20m in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

    He will be based in new waterfront premises in Hull.

    Barclays also recently announced they have secured new retail premises on King Edward Street in Hull. These premises are undergoing extensive refurbishment and will be opening as their flagship branch in the autumn.
