Five businesswomen have established a charity trust that hopes to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to support awareness and treatment of ovarian cancer across the UK.
The trust is to be launched at the Hope Ball for more than 500 guests at Rudding Park in Harrogate on April 21.
Kirstyn Pollard, Lucy Meredith, Eleanor Richardson, Eleanor Kernighan and Louise French, all long-term friends from Leeds, joined forces
to set up The Hope Trust after a close relative was diagnosed with the disease and the realisation that awareness of its symptoms is alarmingly low.
The law firm Gordons LLP is the main event sponsor with co-sponsorship from Leeds-based luxury apartment developer Life Homes and mechanical, electrical and air conditioning engineers, Robinsons. Support has also been received from HSBC.
