Nicola Seal is
digital media director at HMA Digital Marketing in Barnsley.

What was your first job?

When I first started working I was a workaholic so I had three jobs... secretary/sales negotiator at my dad's chartered surveyors, waitress at a local pub, and dancing teacher.

If you weren't in your current position, what would you be doing?

The decision I had to make when I left school was whether to go into the design industry or become a dancer (having danced since I was three) so I would have to say dancing.

What was your worst mistake?

Crashing my car into a Porsche 4x4 and then having all the emergency services turn up for no reason while I was waiting for a tow truck.

Describe your ideal day away from the office

A day out shopping with my mum – champagne breakfast to kick-start the day followed by some retail therapy, finished off with a late lunch and a cocktail.

Name the one person you would most like to have dinner with. Barack Obama – his life must be so overwhelming right now; it would be interesting to get an insight into it.

What was your best subject at school?

Graphic design – my only A* GCSE.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

Depends how much I won – if it was a tenner on a scratchcard, not much.

What is your top time-saving tip?

Delegate

What are your hobbies?

Socialising and entertaining, going to the theatre/concerts, dancing, and, of course, shopping.

How would you describe yourself in a personal advertisement?

"Desperate" – not sure I'd place a personal advertisement unless this was the case.

What is your favourite time of the day and why?

Evenings, especially in the summer, when I can relax and prepare for the next day.

What is your favourite item of clothing?

It would have to be my purple Tony Cohen dress I bought for my recent engagement party. And I couldn't live without my silver Mulberry bag.

What is the best thing about Yorkshire?

The provision of a cosmopolitan lifestyle mixed with fantastic culture and scenery without having to pay over the odds
for it.

What would your epitaph be?

It is better to have lived and died than to have never been born at all.
