Golden (real name Greg) has spent much of the last 10 years providing rich women with their ultimate fantasies, while in return they pick up the tab.

Women buy him designer clothes and shower him with gifts. Once he received a vintage Jaguar from one of them, but it was towed away from outside a nightclub and crushed at the pound before he could raise the cash to retrieve it.

Golden, 30, insists that he is not a male prostitute.

"I've never been paid for sex, nor would I ever be," he says. "Anywhere there is money you will see beautiful women. I'm just the male equivalent of that."

There's never any question of who's going to pick up the tab, he says, though he might just make a few jokes about how broke he is. He has just revealed intimate details of his life in his explicit new memoir, Gigolo.

He's slept with more than 500 women in the 10 years he has been a male escort and charts his erotic adventures in the book, although the names of his rich clients have been changed.

They include a randy estate agent, Miss Antoinette, a movie star he calls Celebrity X and an heiress, Miss Trustfundista. The book reads rather like an upper class version of Confessions Of A Window Cleaner.

"On average over 10 years, I've been with a different woman at least once a week and at some point in my life it's been two or three.

"There have been times when I've had a different woman every night of the week and times when I've taken a sabbatical for a couple of weeks but never more."

His memoir, written with the help of a female ghostwriter, is not just titillation. It borders on pornographic and there's little left to the imagination.

He says his parents are proud of him. "They think the book's great. My dad chuckled away to himself when he was reading it."

Golden has had a great 10 years, but doesn't predict he's going to be a gigolo forever.

"I don't think I'll be doing this in 10 years time. Hopefully I'll be rich and retired by then."
