Bradford City v
Chesterfield

League Two

BRADFORD CITY are hopeful midfielder Nicky Law will be permitted to extend his stay beyond tonight's visit of Chesterfield.
The 20-year-old is on loan from Sheffield United and the clubs are set to discuss his situation on Wednesday.

A Bradford City spokesman said: "We're hopeful that Nicky will be able to stay with us after the Chesterfield match.

"Sheffield United
have been extremely accommodating in the past and we're hoping that the two clubs will be able to reach an agreement."

Midfielder Paul McLaren misses tonight's match with a groin injury, with Tom Clarke in contention to replace him. Kyle Nix is also pushing for a starting place following an ankle problem.

Chesterfield's preparations have been rocked by the news that midfielder Derek Niven is being treated for testicular cancer.

The 24-year-old underwent surgery last Thursday to remove a tumour and is awaiting the results of further tests.

Niven joined Chesterfield from Bolton in 2003 and has made 199 league appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals.

Last six games: Bradford WLWDWW, Chesterfield DDWDWW.

Last time: Bradford 1 Chesterfield 0; March 24, 2008; League Two.

Referee: C Oliver (Northumberland).
