Appointments: Change at the top for city legal firm
A change at the helm of Leeds solicitors Godloves is taking place as managing partner Ian Goldman hands over the reigns to Paul Carvis.
Goldman has been instrumental in the success of Godloves in Leeds after taking over the practice in 1971.
Carvis will take over as managing partner while Goldman will continue working as a consultant until next year.
n The former managing director of Leeds Bradford Airport has been appointed executive chairman of the Airport Operators' Association.
Ed Anderson, who stepped down from his position at Leeds Bradford, was appointed to his new role with immediate effect.
The association, based in London, represents the interests of British airports.
n Law firm Nabarro has unveiled four new partners for its Sheffield office.
Construction partner James Duckworth, hired from Hull firm Andrew Jackson, is joined by corporate partner Andrea Cropley and projects partner Liz Cooper, who are both relocating from Nabarro's London office.
Chris Chambers, who joined the firm as a newly-qualified solicitor in 2001, has also been elected as a real estate partner, bringing the total number of partners in Sheffield to 23.
n Insurance broker and risk-management specialist Wilby has appointed Neil Kendall as associate director.
Halifax-based Wilby has been established since 1984 and employs more than 40 people at its Gordon House headquarters.
n Law firm Chadwick Lawrence has appointed partner Asma Iqbal to head the firm's expanding corporate recovery and insolvency team.
Iqbal joins Chadwick Lawrence from the Leeds firm of solicitors Brooke North where she was an associate specialising in insolvency and foreign debt recovery.
n Law firm Watson Burton has announced the appointment of five partners and six associates within its Newcastle and Leeds offices.
The newly promoted partners are Robin Adams from the corporate department, Andrew Cawkwell, corporate recovery, David Jenkins, employment, Mark Lazenby, banking and corporate and Ed Meikle, intellectual property.
The six new associates are Julie Farrell-Knowles and Deborah Jameson, both from the property department, Jacqueline Hoyland and Zoe Thomas from employment, Tonia Simpson, a corporate lawyer, and Susan Ford of the professions and insurance group.
n York technology specialist The Saville Group has announced the appointment of Colin Nixey as financial director.
The appointment follows the retirement of former director Ron Allpress, a member of the three-man board which effected a management buyout from former chairman Michael Saville in 1996. Nixey has been with the company for 21 years.
n St Paul's Developments has promoted Dennis Enuson to the role of development manager.
In his new role, Enuson will be involved with site acquisitions, identifying new development opportunities with particular focus on the healthcare sector, land options and joint ventures alongside marketing of St Paul's portfolio of development sites.
n Richard Walsh, associate director at property consultants GVA Grimley, has relocated from London to join the Investment team in Leeds.
Following five years at GVA Grimley's head office in London, Walsh moves to Yorkshire to boost the firm's profile.
