Clyde Process Solutions delivers positive update
DONCASTER-based Clyde Process Solutions today revealed that it had achieved a record order book, despite the tougher economic climate
In a statement, the company, which specialises in developing energy-saving pneumatic conveying systems, said overall trading in the six month period ending August 31 had been encouraging and the group remained positive about its outlook for the future.
The group's order book at the end of July 2008 stood at record levels of 34.9m against 21.4m at the same point in the previous year, an increase of 63 per cent.
Order intake had been in line with market expectations. In June 2008, the group secured a record month of order intake at 9.9m and it expects the majority of this intake to be converted to output by the end of the financial year. Contracts continue to be secured with "healthy levels" of contribution.
Contracts in the iron and steel market have been secured in France, Brazil and China during the last six months with some of the world's leading producers.
The group's North American cement strategy, which was started at the beginning of the financial year, is generating significant momentum as producers try to reduce the emissions and environmental harm caused by their production processes.
Alex Stewart, the chief executive of Clyde Process Solutions, said: "The group has made excellent progress this year, with the demand for low energy, low maintenance, and environmentally enhancing solutions growing strongly across the majority of our key customer markets.
"The results generated thus far have provided the board with confidence that the market-driven strategies being executed across our key customer markets such as steel, cement, food and plastics will provide strong growth moving forward into the second half of the year, which is in line with market expectations."
