Clyde Process Solutions seals major contract

DONCASTER-based engineering firm Clyde Process Solutions today announced that it had been awarded a £1m order by the world's leading producer of platinum.

The order was secured by CPS's recently established operating subsidiary in South Africa, Clyde Materials Handling Africa.

CMHA was formed in November 2008 with local management in an effort to grow revenue and market share, particularly within the metals and minerals markets.

The 1m order is for six pneumatic conveying systems which CMHA

will supply, install and commission in an effort to support the customer's objective of doubling capacity at one of their South African platinum smelters.

Alex Stewart, the chief executive of Clyde Process Solutions, said: "I am exceptionally pleased to announce another sizeable

contract, which builds on the record order disclosed last week. Specifically, I am delighted that our newly formed South African operating subsidiary has secured such a notable order with the world's largest platinum producer.

"The relationships that our South African based team has developed in the platinum industry were a significant contributor in securing this order. CPS is now regarded as a leading pneumatic conveying technology provider to the global platinum metals market. This order is in line with management expectations and secured at a competitive level of contribution.

"The orders we have recently won have enabled us to generate a solid order book as we enter our next financial year. Our market driven, customer focused strategy is yielding many opportunities which we shall continue to pursue and convert in the coming months"
