Company expands with aim to be world leader
A YORKSHIRE company, which supplies cardboard baling machines and shredders, has moved to bigger premises to cope with increasing demand for its equipment.
Riverside Waste Machinery (RWM) has moved to a new 11,000ft site in Roecliffe, less than two miles from its previous location, in Boroughbridge, near York.
The company, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, also plans to recruit more staff and has signed a new deal to supply balers from German manufacturer HSM.
RWM provides a range of baling machines to reduce the volume of cardboard and plastic waste items.
Its industrial shredders can recycle municipal solid waste, tyres, rubber, plastics, electrical equipment and general industrial products.
RWM already provides its own brand of machines as well as shredders from Austrian manufacturer Untha.
Managing director Chris Oldfield, who founded the company in 1998, says that the move to bigger premises is part of RWM's long-term strategy to be a world leader in the waste and recycling industry.
He said: "The market is growing for the recycling and handling of waste as businesses look to comply with new environmental laws introduced to help meet the Government's recycling targets.
"Our on-going expansion is aimed at making us a world leader in the supply of equipment in this sector."
Mr Oldfield added: "Our excellent new facilities give us an edge on our competitors and mean we can tailor machines for customers' individual needs."
