Food and drink firms at Big Apple
SOME of Yorkshire's specialist food and drink firms, including the Black Sheep Brewery and Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, flew representatives to New York yesterday to boost US business.
The Masham brewer and Bettys will join Wensleydale Creameries, Ripon's Rosebud Preserves, Daleside Brewery and John Farrah Toffees, both based in Harrogate, and Northallerton gourmet food store, Lewis & Cooper, at the New York Fancy Food Show.
The food and drink industry is a significant business in Yorkshire and the Humber, and is said to be responsible for 200,000 jobs in related trades. The trip has been supported by the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward and other agencies including Business Link York and North Yorkshire , the Yorkshire Regional Food Group and the Mid-Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
