Franchise chances go under spotlight
BUDDING entrepreneurs found out how to kickstart a new career by becoming a franchisee at an event attended by over 300 people.
The Bradford Franchising Fair included a keynote speech by entrepreneur Sahar Hashemi, founder of coffee chain Coffee Republic which is now open to franchisees.
She said: "I believe franchising is a great route to starting your own business, especially in the current climate, as the product is tried and tested.
"Hopefully, by sharing my experiences with those who came along, I was able to encourage some people to take advantage of the opportunities available to them."
The exhibition showcased franchising opportunities from a variety of organisations including Medics on the Move, Esquires Coffee Houses, buy-LOCAL.net, Pinnacle Chauffeur Transport and Distribution Unlimited.
Coun Adrian Naylor, Bradford Council's executive member for regeneration and economy, added: "It is very reassuring for someone opening a franchised outlet to know that the franchisor has invested in building the brand and that the organisational structure is already in place to provide support. Franchising can be a great way to start a new business in the Bradford District."
The free event was organised by Bradford Kickstart and Business Link Yorkshire and included seminars throughout the day which provided business start-up information and practical support.
