Greens makes debut in Hong Kong
A YORKSHIRE design and manufacturing company has made its debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as it continues to expand.
Wakefield-based Greens Power, which produces environmentally-friendly boilers and heat-transfer products for the power generation and petrochemical industries, has a manufacturing base in Shanghai and believes the move will help to continue its rapid growth.
The company, which aims to hit a turnover of between 90m and 100m by 2010, employs 850 people including 40 in Wakefield.
Greens serves international blue chip customers including Mitsubishi, Foster Wheeler and JGC Corporation, and chief executive Frank Ellis said the firm is well-positioned to capture market opportunities.
Earlier this year the company completed the construction of a new boiler factory in Jiangsu Province in China and is currently constructing another factory in Inner Mongolia to supply wind towers.
It also has a factory in Shanghai which was built to supply power station economisers.
The taxation and financial affairs of Greens were dealt with by David Walker, a partner at Walker Sutcliffe solicitors in Huddersfield, with David Smithies at NatWest bank in Leeds providing financial support. Huddersfield-based Eaton Smith were the lawyers.
