Link-up helps Black Sheep pass £40,000 charity mark
BLACK Sheep Brewery has passed the £40,000 mark in its Big Push Up campaign to raise money for the Scott suite breast cancer ward at the Friarage hospital in Northallerton.
The brewer, run by Paul Theakston, reached the milestone after this year's Great Yorkshire Show, when it teamed up with Bradford-based Seabrook Crisps.
Together, the two companies raised 800 at last week's event by selling beer and crisps.
Brian Smith, the head of sales at Black Sheep, started the campaign in 2006. Last month, three members of the brewery rode to the Arctic Circle on motorbikes on a fundraising trip.
Mr Theakston, the managing director, said: "The decision to tie crisps with beer to raise money for such a good cause was unanimous and worked really well.
"Having reached over 40,000 and excelling our target by 15,000, our hope is that companies like Seabrook will continue to help us make a difference."
