A duo from law firm Last Cawthra Feather have swum the equivalent distance of the English Channel to raise money for charity.

each year.

Specialist recruitment business Driver Hire is a finalist in the British Franchise Association's Franchisor of the Year Awards.

The Bradford-based firm's nationwide network supplies temporary and permanent driving and non-driving staff to businesses and organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Formula One driver Mika Hakkinen has opened the new UK head office of home-delivery courier company Hermes.

The firm has moved from its existing Bradford headquarters to a modern building in Morley, Leeds. The head office move follows the company's rebranding to Hermes earlier this year and its integration into its parent company's international logistics arm.

An intrepid team from Shepherd Construction has raised thousands of pounds for charity by completing The Coins 3 Peaks Challenge.

Climbing the three highest peaks respectively in England, Wales and Scotland within 24 hours, the Shepherd team from Leeds recorded the second fastest time for 2009, and has raised 8,300 so far in aid of the COINS Foundation.

The group of four scaled Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, a total of 3,407m, in 18 hours and 8 minutes.

The Shepherd Construction team were sponsored by Kingspan, Horbury Group, Hiretest, Ivanhoe Forge, Mullane Civil Engineering, Leaderflush Shapland, Connolly Demolition, Woodside Concrete, Morden Ceilings and Daleraven.
