On The Spot with Becca Morgan
Becca Morgan is director of teacher supply business Principal Teachers, which has offices in Catterick, Leeds and York.
What was your first job?
I worked in the kitchen at an outdoor centre in Swaledale where I was paid 75p per hour while I was training. When I eventually finished the training, it was increased to 1 per hour.
If you weren't in your present job, what would you like to do?
I have always been fascinated by the medical profession, and fondly remember watching the medical drama Angels. I still never miss an episode of Casualty, ER and Holby City. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the intelligence or the strong stomach required to achieve this ambition.
What was your worst mistake?
Giving the wrong answer when I was auditioning for Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. I was asked, "If you go on the show, how much money would you like to win?" My gut answer was "give me the million!", but I didn't want to appear greedy, so I replied, "I would be happy with a couple of grand", which was a complete lie and obviously not the answer they were looking for.
What would your ideal day be away from the office?
Lots of exercise; followed by lots of pampering at a spa.
Name one person you would most like to have dinner with and why?
Sir Alan Sugar. I would pump him for hints and tips, and then let him pay for dinner.
What was your best subject at school?
I love music and taught myself to play the flute while at school.
What are your hobbies?
Keeping fit, playing the piano, flute and recorder. I play in a ceilidh band from time to time.
What would you do if you won the Lotto?
Give a huge chunk to charity and buy a couple of small businesses and a farmhouse in Tuscany where I could take it easy.
What is your top time-saving tip?
Delegate wherever possible, and also learn to say no.
What is your favourite time of the day and why?
Bedtime. I love reading my children a story and tucking them into bed – although it does take a while as I have five.
What is your favourite garment?
My push-up bra.
What is the best thing about Yorkshire?
Swaledale and the warm, generous people.
What would you like your epitaph to be?
If you snooze you lose.
