Showroom jobs saved as buyer found
TWENTY jobs have been saved at a Yorkshire-based firm which went into administration last week.
A buyer has been found for the main part of the Leeds-based Norwood Interiors business, which designs and installs kitchens and bathrooms.
Clough Corporate Solutions has agreed a deal to sell Norwood’s showrooms, which are based on the Abbey Retail Park in Kirkstall, near Leeds, and at Spring Road Studios in Brighouse to My House Group.
My House Group owns a number of home improvement companies including Christie’s Kitchens, window and door firm Weatherseal and home maintenance company Job Worth Doing.
Chris Wood, the administrator of Norwood Interiors and partner and insolvency practitioner at Clough Corporate Solutions, said: “Norwood is a well-known name in Yorkshire and has been around for more than 25 years so we are delighted to have found a buyer to take over the company’s showrooms. Although Norwood has suffered in the recession it still has a fantastic reputation and should complement the companies within My House Group.”
Darren Cornwall, the chief financial officer at My House Group, said: “Norwood Interiors is a strong brand with stunning showrooms and is renowned for offering top quality products and great customer service so I’m sure we can make the business successful again. Incorporating the company into My House Group will help us do this by positioning it alongside several related businesses.”
Thirteen jobs have been lost at the distribution and warehouse side of the Norwood Interiors business.
