Spice renews British Airways contract
SPICE, the energy services company, has renewed its contract with British Airways for another three years.
The contract covers the provision of private mobile radio and other wireless technology support and services.
The contract renewal process was used by Leeds-based Spice and BA as an opportunity to carry out a full review of the services delivered and terms of the contract.
As a consequence of this review, deferred consideration payable to BA is now no longer due.
Once the three-year contract is up in 2011, there is an option to extend it for another year.
Spice chief executive Simon Rigby said the contract renewal underlined the strength of Spice's ongoing relationship with BA.
Philip Hawker, communications networks manager of BA, said: "We are very pleased to renew our contract with AirRadio following what has been a comprehensive review to ensure that the services provided are in line with our changing operational requirements in a challenging environment.
"We have been delighted with the standard of services delivered by AirRadio over the past five years, including the support for our move to T5, and look forward to continue working together in the future."
Spice was founded in 1996 and has its origins in the electricity industry, though the range of activities has since been expanded into the water sector, niche telecommunications services, statutory gas inspections, energy management and facilities management.
It was admitted to the stock market's official list in July as part of its gameplan to double the size of its business over the next five years.
