What was your first job?
Numerous shop and bar jobs while studying. First ‘proper’ job was working in the Professional Footballers’ Association education scheme.
If you weren’t in your current position what would you be doing?
I had a spell in education and really enjoyed working with young people, so probably something in that sector.
What was your worst mistake?
Not sure, time will tell...
What’s your ideal day away from the office?
I was lucky enough to play Gleneagles Golf Course last week with some friends in the glorious sunshine and still made it home in time for dinner with the family – that takes some beating!
Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?
At the moment one of the Dragons from Dragons’ Den. I have this great idea... Or my wife once in a while would be nice!
What was your best subject in school?
What are your hobbies?
Watching and playing football (Everton supporter) and golf, days outdoors with the kids.
What would you do if you won the Lotto?
I’d carry on with the business I think and probably invest most of it for my kids and donate to good causes. Oh, and buy a Porsche.
What’s your favourite item of clothing?
An old Lyle and Scott polo shirt I’ve had for years.
What’s your favourite time of day?
When I get home and the kids race to the door to meet me.
What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?
The variety – cool big cities, quaint small market towns and beautiful beaches all in one county.
What would you like your epitaph to be?
