PETROCHEMICAL data firm Getech has signed an agreement with IP Group, it said today.
Intellectual property experts IP2IPO will provide advice on acquisitions, strategy and investments to the Leeds firm, which has the world's largest commercial library of gravity and magnetic exploration data.

Charles Tavner, IP2IPO, becomes a non-executive director of Getech with immediate effect.

The 33-year-old is partnership director at IP Group with experience in identifying and commercialising new technologies, including oil and gas exploration, energy storage, software and medical devices and managing companies.

He was previously a director of ReDimenion and is currently a director of Nanotecture, Athena3D and Encos.

Raymond Wolfson, Getech chief executive, said: "We have had a long and fruitful relationship with IP Group, originating in its links with Techtran (which was acquired by IP Group).

"We are pleased to welcome Charles Tavner to the board and believe that this new arrangement will assist the Company at a key time in its plans for growth, both through acquisitions and organically.'
