WHEELIE bin firm Helesi has won a contract to supply the Municipality of Athens with a range of waste management vehicles and equipment along with a maintenance services contract.
Under the terms of the contract, the company will supply both waste management vehicles and related ancillary equipment in 2009, servicing them over the next 5 years.

The group has sites in Bradford and Komotini in northern Greece.
The vehicles and equipment will be delivered between May and December 2009 and will be leased by the Municipality with finance supplied by Piraeus Leasing. The total value of the contract for Helesi will be approximately €14.4 million for the vehicles and €1million a year for the services.

Commenting on the award, Sakis Andrianopoulos, chief executive of Helesi, said, "Our vehicles business is growing and prospering. This award provides a good illustration of the scale of contracts we can now service since acquiring Perivallontiki in 2007, confirming our strategy behind the acquisition."
