ENGINEERING consultant White Young Green reported strong demand across all its business sectors yesterday and said it has won a number of new projects in Liverpool, London, Cork, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The group also said it has appointed Paul Hamer as chief operating officer reporting to chief executive Lawrie Haynes.

Mr Hamer is managing director of VT Nuclear Services, part of the VT Group. He previously held senior positions in the contracting, oil, chemical and petrochemical sectors and brings with him over 20 years' experience in business management.

In addition the group has appointed Philip Collard as business development director and David Crichton-Miller as managing director of Environment, Planning and Transport Planning.

White Young Green chairman Peter Wood said: "I am very pleased with the progress made in the year to date both in terms of trading and in the recruitment of talented individuals who will contribute positively to the ongoing development of the group." So far this year the group, which provided consultancy work on York Racecourse and Headingley stadium, has won a number of significant new projects.

These include project management of the 15,000 housing stock transfer from Liverpool City Council to Liverpool Mutual Homes.
