Yorkshire's Championship Division One match against Sussex at Scarborough was abandoned about an hour before the scheduled start of the final day's play.

More heavy rain overnight, following yesterday's complete washout, left left large pools of standing water on the outfield.

It was the fourth completely blank Championship day of the season for Yorkshire and time is running out for them to save themselves from relegation.

They are without a Championship match next week but then return to Scarborough for their final home game against Somerset before wrapping up the season by taking on Sussex again at Hove.
