Forward 2311 head of stock comprising of 455 cattle including 183 Young Bulls and 54 Cows and OTM's, 1757 sheep inc 368 ewes and 99 Pigs inc 58 Sows and Boars. Similar numbers of cattle on offer with quality variable including several grass fed cattle.
Trade was mixed with the top and bottom end of market less money while trade for the middle band would be similar.
Top price was 208.5 for belgian blue x heifer from CR & CL Donaldson, Huby which was purchased by R Agar, Ilkley. Steers sold to 17
9.5 (twice) from B Bowman, Roecliffe sold to R Agar & JT&G Ryder, Youlton to Woodhead Bros, Colne.
Bull trade followed a very similar pattern to clean cattle with a top price of 188.5 for a blonde x from JA Matten, Newsham purchased by Cleveland Meat Co, Stockton. Cows & OTM's were also of mixed quality and trade was much the same with OTM's selling to 141.5 and cows to 140.5.
Lamb trade was steadier following the trend for the week, but again there was a marked difference between well fleshed and leaner lambs. Top price was £62.50 for texel x from JG Broadley, High Ellingstring which sold to R Horner, Kilburn.
Ewes were a little better to sell making up to £52. Best quality pigs sold well to 114p from CM & EM Gratton, Warsill to R Horner, Kilburn. Sow trade was a little easier selling to 80p.
