DARREN GOUGH led the fightback as Yorkshire Carnegie clinched victory against their Roses rivals with two balls to spare.
Gough hit four boundaries in an unbeaten 20 as Yorkshire fought back from needing 46 runs from 30 balls to claim a third straight win in the Twenty20 Cup and keep alive their hopes of qualifying from the North Division.
Lancashire Lightning made 150-6 with Mal Loye top-scoring on 43 and Richard Pyrah taking three wickets for Yorkshire.
Yorkshire struggled for consistency in the batting department with only Anthony McGrath providing any resistance with a 46.
But in a dramatic conclusion, veteran captain Gough hit three boundaries in a row in the 18th over to reignite Yorkshire's chances in front of 8,749 at Headingley Carnegie.
Needing seven off the last over, Kyle Hogg bowled a leg-bye for four and then Gough stepped up to cut home the winner.
