Doncaster Rovers v
Coventry City

DONCASTER Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll insists that striker Paul Heffernan still has a future at the club.

Heffernan has been unable to get back into the Rovers' side after being sent off for violent conduct in the first leg of last season's Lea
gue One play-off semi-final against Southend United.

With summer signing Darren Byfield back after injury for today's home game with Coventry City, Heffernan could slip even further down the pecking order.

Oldham Athletic, Huddersfield Town and MK Dons have all been linked with possible moves for the striker, but O'Driscoll says he does not want to sell.

"Paul is part of our squad and you don't let goalscorers go willy-nilly," said O'Driscoll. "He was suspended for the first game and, to be fair, Lewis Guy, Gareth Taylor and James Hayter have done well so it's a bit difficult for Paul at the moment, but he is very much part of my plans.

"People tell me that clubs are interested, but no one has ever rung me and said 'what's happening with Paul?'" he added. "If someone wants to buy him, they will have to make an offer and that will be put to the board and they will make a decision. But they will ask my opinion and I will say 'keep him'."

Rovers, who have opened the season with four points from three games, will be looking to record their first home win of the season this afternoon.
