Burnley v Doncaster Rovers
DONCASTER Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll is refusing to give up the chase for Hull City's Dean Windass.

O'Driscoll, who has also enquired about Norwich City's Jamie Cureton and Charlton Athletic's Izale McLeod, needs a new striker to spearhead his
side's fight against the drop.

Rovers have scored just eight goals in 18 games since winning promotion to the Championship and sit four points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.

Veteran striker Windass, 39, is out of the first team picture at Hull and has attracted interest from a host of clubs.

O'Driscoll said: "We have made it clear that we are interested in Dean along with a number of other clubs. There is interest there and that has not gone away. Hull are aware of that and Dean will be aware of that."

Cureton, 33, is another player on O'Driscoll's wanted list but Norwich have expressed a reluctance to loan the player to a rival Championship club.

A proposed move for Charlton striker McLeod, who has previously played on loan for Sheffield United, was blocked for similar reasons.

The departures of Darren Byfield and Mark Wilson on loan have freed funds for O'Driscoll to move for a new striker. Byfield could still have a future with the club, however, if he rediscovers his form and fitness at Oldham.
