IT was time to celebrate in the Hendow household last night as triplets all celebrated GCSE success.
Haytham, Eseelle and Layla will begin studying A-levels next term brimming with confidence after landing an impressive haul of top GCSE grades at Hull Collegiate School.
Layla led the way with eight A* and two As, trumping the six A*, three As and one B of Haytham, while Eseelle weighed in with nine As and a B.
The trio were relieved to have done so well after overcoming a bout of pre-result nerves.
"We were really nervous and it was a tense morning but it's great to have done well," said Haytham.
"It's a feeling of relief, but now we are just waiting to take our A-levels and it all starts again next year."
The 16-year-olds, who were born within six minutes of each other, were accompanied by their mother Kirsty as they picked up their results.
She said: "They have done remarkably well. I'm absolutely delighted and so proud of them. They have all worked very hard, there's no doubt about it."
Haytham also paid tribute to his teachers for their contribution to the family's success.
He said: "The school pushed us to get the grades they thought we could achieve and they have been really helpful and supportive throughout the whole exam period.
"I enjoyed working in some subjects and in the ones I didn't think I would do so well in they pushed us to reach the best possible grades. It's a good school."
The triplets were among a group of siblings who celebrated success together in Yorkshire on GCSE results day.
St Peter's School in York saw two sets of twins collect a total of 22 A* and A grades between them yesterday morning.
Rebecca and Sarah Askham of Low Catton, near York, and Mark and John Hamilton from Escrick celebrated their results together at the private school close to York city centre.
Rebecca said: "Our results are different but we are both very pleased with our grades.
Mark added: "We are both pleased and relieved too. Our marks mean we can go on to do the A-levels we wanted."
Both sets of twins will be staying at St Peter's to do their A -levels.
Leeds Girls' High School also saw two sets of twins celebrating their results together yesterday.
The pupils, Hajira and Philza Kayani of Carr Manor in Leeds, and Kate and Ruth Pye-Jones of Weetwood in Leeds, netted eleven A*s between them. Hajira and twin sister Philza passed nine GCSEs each and have three A* and five A grades between them while Kate and Ruth Pye-Jones also passed nine GCSEs each with eight A* and eight A grades between them.
But Badminton School in Bristol saw the biggest sibling celebration of all yesterday as a set of triplets and two sets of twins achieved 63 GCSEs between them including nine A*s, 31 As, 19 Bs and four Cs.
Sabrina, Sophie and Stephanie Chizindu, Charis and Darcy Williams, and Vwaro and Eduvie Omene, all 16, can all relax now after weeks of waiting for their exam results.
The Chizindu triplets, whose family are from Nigeria and have boarded at Badminton since 2005.
Sabrina, who gained one A*, three As, four Bs and one C plus an A* in short course Religious Studies and C in short course ICT, said: "It was great to receive all the grades with my sisters - we've all been really supportive of each other.
