Championship beckons for Green, with or without Rovers

MIDFIELDER Paul Green will blossom in the Championship next season – with or without Doncaster Rovers.
Green is out of contract in the summer and will not be making any decisions on his future until the end of the club's League One play-off campaign.
However, should Rovers fail to go up or fail to agree terms on a new deal, Preston North End manager Alan Irvine may be waiting in the wings with an offer for the player.
Irvine made a personal check on Green in last weekend's final League One game of the season at Cheltenham.
According to Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll, Green's future with Rovers was in jeopardy last season, but the 25-year-old has developed and proved him wrong.
"When we came here last season, we said we wanted to take the club to the next level and, as Paul was the last surviving member of the Conference side, maybe he was the one you would have to jettison," admitted O'Driscoll.
"He is still a young lad but he has played an awful lot of games and risen to every challenge.
"As this season has progressed, he has blossomed and is still on the roller-coaster ride. I am sure if we get to the next level, he will be the same."
Although Green scored his sixth goal of the season at Cheltenham last weekend, it was not enough to prevent Rovers missing out on automatic promotion to the Championship.
O'Driscoll's men are preparing for a two-legged play-off semi-final against Southend United - with the first leg away at Roots Hall tomorrow night and the return leg at the Keepmoat Stadium seven days later.
Jockey Frankie Dettori may have delivered a lucky omen for the club ahead of the play-offs yesterday when riding 3-1 shot Doncaster Rover to victory at Chester.
The horse is owned by a Doncaster-based football agent, Willie McKay, whose stables at Bawtry are now under the supervision of trainer Stuart Parr.
Meanwhile, delegates from one of the top clubs in Vietnamese football, Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC, have visited the Rovers stadium as part of their planning for a new 15,000 stadium.
The club, which is based in Pleiku, have links with Premier League side Arsenal and were advised to visit the Keepmoat by officials at the Emirates Stadium.
Chris Bevan, Arsenal's marketing manager, said: "Over the past year, HAGL have helped lay the foundations for developing Vietnamese football by building a state-of-the-art Academy with us and supporting several local grass-roots community initiatives.
"The next stage is for them to realise their role in their local community and develop their commercial potential via the development of a new stadium.
"We felt the Keepmoat provided the perfect case-study. It demonstrated to the delegates the quality of facilities that Vietnamese fans could enjoy, and how their club could generate revenues 365 days a year through a medium-sized stadium, which plays a major role in the local community."
