FA CUP

Captain Sol Campbell and goalkeeper David James have returned to full training after injury to give FA Cup favourites Portsmouth a clean bill of health for Saturday's Wembley encounter with Cardiff.

Centre-back Campbell will start after resting tight hamstrings when Pompey lost 1-0 to Fulham on Sunday.

That was also the third consecutive match England goalkeeper James had missed with a torn calf muscle but manager Harry Redknapp said: "They a
re both ready go back in now."

Striker David Nugent should also be fit to rejoin the squad after a groin strain and fellow forward Kanu is set to lead the attack in place of cup-tied Jermain Defoe after recovering from a thigh strain.

"I didn't want to miss any of those Premier League games and if it had been solely up to me I'd have trained to play against Blackburn a couple of weeks ago," said James.

"But, sensibly it seems, it was decided I shouldn't do that."

Pompey are odds-on with most bookmakers to beat their mid-table Championship rivals but Harry Redknapp's team go into the match in the worst form of any FA Cup finalists for 45 years.

They have lost their last four Premier League games after a goalless home draw with Newcastle on April 12.

Striker John Utaka insists Pompey's poor form will not be a factor in the final.

"I don't think it matters at all. You can't win every game but we have won many this season and played some great matches," he added.
