Stuart McCall claimed a draw would have been a fair result and felt his Bradford side deserved something from the game.
The Bantams chief hailed the way his side battled back from missing a penalty and going behind 30 seconds later.
McCall said: "Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say we were beaten by a couple of fantastic strikes.
"I can't take anything away from Aldershot because they are obviously a good side and it was a cracking game in the second half with both teams going at each other.
"Both teams had chances to win the match and if we'd have taken ours then it would have been a different result.
"The lads did well to get back into the game after missing the penalty and going behind straight away and never let their heads drop."
Midfielder Paul McLaren gave Bradford the lead with a 10th-minute strike before Ben Harding equalised three minutes after the break.
Peter Thorne missed a 65th-minute penalty and Marvin Morgan tapped in for Aldershot 30 seconds later.
Lee Bullock hit back for Bradford with his first of the campaign before Davies, who came on in the 58th minute, hit a 28-yard strike into the top corner of the net. The goal was enough to secure Aldershot's first home victory.
