Leeds United blitzed Crewe in a five-star display in the Football League, and there were wins too for Bradford City, Huddersfield Town and York City.
But Rotherham United failed to make it a clean sweep of wins for our Yorkshire sides in action on an international weekend which saw a trimmed down fixture list, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

League One
Cheltenham Town 1 Huddersfield Town 2

Huddersfield Town climbed away from the relegation zone to leave Cheltenham Town rooted to the foot of the table.

Strikers Danny Cadamarteri and Andy Booth were both ruled out by injury while centre-back Andy Butler was unavailable for the third game in a row due to a back problem.

Cheltenham gave a debut to former Sheffield Wednesday striker Lloyd Owusu, who opened the scoring with a powerful header on 42 minutes.

But Nathan Clarke grabbed a deserved Town equaliser, netting on 57 minutes, before Ian Craney completed a turnaround to make it 2-1 to the visitors on 67 minutes.

Cheltenham: Higgs, Jeremy Gill, Caines, Townsend, Wright, Low, Russell, Bird, Myrie-Williams, Owusu, Hayles.
Subs: Scott P Brown, Armstrong, Lindegaard, Vincent, Sinclair.
Huddersfield: Glennon, Holdsworth, Nathan Clarke, Lucketti, Unsworth, Roberts, Collins, Craney, Flynn, Jevons, Dickinson.
Subs: Skarz, Parker, Worthington, Goodwin, Beckett.

Leeds United 5 Crewe Alexandra 2
Leeds United put in a five-star display at Elland Road - but suffered a late red card and two stoppage time goals to take the gloss off their afternoon.

Leeds manager Gary McAllister made two changes to the side that had drawn 2-2 against Bristol Rovers seven days earlier.

Paul Telfer and Alan Sheehan were both recalled after injury at the expense of Paul Huntington and Bradley Johnson who were not even on the bench.

Fabian Delph tipped the balance in United's favour on 26 minutes, before Sheehan smacked a 25-yarder to make it 2-0 on the half-hour.

Jonathan Douglas added a third for United on 49 minutes, before Jermaine Beckford joined the scorers on 67 minutes and Andy Robinson added a fifth with eight minutes left.

An impressive afternoon was spoiled in injury time when Lubomir Michalik was sent off for his second booking and Billy Jones and Eugene Bopp grabbed late Crewe consolation goals.

Leeds: Lucas, Richardson, Michalik, Telfer, Sheehan, Hughes, Kilkenny, Douglas, Delph, Beckford, Becchio.
Subs: Ankergren, Prutton, Howson, Robinson, Snodgrass.
Crewe: Collis, Woodards, O'Donnell, Baudet, Jones, Moore, Bailey, Rix, Schumacher, Elding, Zola.
Subs: Bopp, Abbey, Pope, Miller, Donaldson.

League Two
Chesterfield 1 Rotherham 0
Rotherham United were denied a deserved point at Saltergate as Chesterfield nicked a stoppage-time winner.

The Millers had defender Pablo Mills and striker Ryan Taylor back after illness but new signing Omar Garcia missed out on his debut. And United could have done with a cutting edge up front as they were held 0-0 at Saltergate.

And just when it looked like the spoils would be shared, defender Alan Goodall popped up in the fifth minute of stoppage time to grab a late Spireites winner.

Chesterfield: Carson, Downes, Page, Austin, Goodall, Lowry, Niven, Kerry, Winter, Ward, Currie.
Subs: Lee, Picken, Robertson, Harsley, Bowery.
Rotherham: Warrington, Lynch, Sharps, Fenton, Nicholas, Danny Harrison, Mills, Hudson, Burchill, Taylor, Reid.
Subs: Cann, Cummins, Rhodes, Broughton, Green.

Port Vale 0 Bradford City 2
Bradford City climbed to second in League Two after an impressive 2-0 win away at Port Vale.

Bradford manager Stuart McCall reverted to his strongest side after making five changes for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy game at Leeds. Defender Matt Clarke recovered from a calf strain, strikers Michael Boulding and Peter Thorne were recalled, along with Lee Bullock and Paul Arnison.

And it was Bullock who put McCall's side 1-0 up inside 20 minutes, after good work down the flank from Omar Daley. Thorne sealed the three points with a second goal on 76 minutes.

Port Vale: Anyon, Stockley, Slater, McCombe, Collins, Richman, Howland, Griffith, Dodds, Rodgers, Richards.
Subs: Martin, Prosser, Taiwo, Taylor, Perry.
Bradford: Rhys Evans, Arnison, Lee, Clarke, Heckingbottom, Colbeck, McLaren, Bullock, Daley, Michael Boulding, Thorne.
Subs: Bower, Conlon, Moncur, Nix, Furman.

Blue Square Conference
York 2 Woking 0
York City pushed towards the top end of the Blue Square Conference with an impressive 2-0 win over Woking.

Striker Onome Sodje is ruled out with a hamstring problem and Niall Henderson is still away on international duty with the Northern Ireland under-21 squad. Simon Rusk and Steven Hogg are also unavilable due to injury.

Daniel McBreen opened York's account on 38 minutes to put the Minstermen in front - before Danny Bunce's 49th-minute own goal doubled the home side's advantage.

York: Ingham, Purkiss, McGurk, Parslow, Robinson, Russell, Greaves, Wilkinson, Bore, Brodie, McBreen.
Subs: Mimms, Kelly, Farrell, Boyes, Shepherd.
Woking: Pidgeley, Mondon-Konan, Hutchinson, Miles, Bunce, Lambu, Quamina, Pattison, Sole, Yorkie, Dormoraud.
Subs: Salau, Williams, Marum, Warner, Moon.
