KEVIN BLACKWELL has launched a £1.8m raid on Watford for forward Tommy Smith and is set to complete the signing of Michael McIndoe.
The Sheffield United manager had a bid accepted for Smith last night and hopes to tie up a deal before the club head out on their pre-season tour to Malta next week.

Smith scored 17 goals last season for the Hornets and could link up with former Watford men Lee Williamson, Darius Henderson and Leigh Bromby at Bramall Lane.

McIndoe is due in Sheffield to tie up a move to the Blades after United had a bid accepted for the former Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers winger.

Portsmouth's Glen Little has also been training at Bramall Lane.
