Here are the gardens open to the public this week. Please note openings are subject to change so readers should check by phoning venues before travelling.

Saturday-Sunday, June 20-21

Thornton in Craven, near Skipton. Fifteen open gardens. Admission by trail map (£3, children free) from the Village Hall or Church. www.gwdstic2@btinternet.com

North Ferriby, East Yorkshire.

Bolton near Pocklington. Open gardens. Admission £3. Saturday 11am-4pm, Sunday 2-4pm.

68 Pennygate, Spalding. Island beds and borders, pond, waterfall, rockery and bog garden. Nursery. Adults £2.50, children free. 1-5pm.

298 Selby Road, Whitkirk, Leeds. Traditional suburban garden. Admission £2.50, includes cream tea. 2-5pm.

Sunday June 21

Oulston, near Easingwold. Open gardens, plus entertainment by NOMADs (Norton and Malton Amateur Dramatics group), cake and plant stalls, games on green. Adults £3, children free. 1-5pm.

Marton-cum-Grafton, North Yorkshire. More than 15 gardens. Adults £4, children free. 11am-5pm.

Wortley Hall, near Sheffield. 18th-century Italianate gardens. Guided garden tours at 1pm and 3pm. Plant stall. Entry £5 for both gardens or £3 for just one. Noon-4pm. Visit www.wortleyhall.com
