Here are the gardens open to the public this week. Please note openings are subject to change so readers should check by phoning venues before travelling.

Saturday/Sunday June 27/28

Cawthorne, near Barnsley. Eighteen private gardens to view, with refreshments, plant stalls, children's fun competitions and organ recitals in the church. £4 adults with children free. P
rogrammes available from the village green or any of the gardens. 11am-5pm.

Saturday June 27

Belton House, Grantham. Italian and Dutch gardens, orangery. Adults £8, children £4.75. 11am-5.30pm.

Luddenden open gardens and heritage day. 14 gardens in Luddenden will be open noon-5pm. Refreshments, plants sale. Tickets £4 on the day from the car park on Luddenden Lane, £3 beforehand.

Sunday June 28

Cliff House, Main Street, Whitton, near Scunthorpe. Informal country garden with paved courtyard, sundial garden, herbaceous borders, roses, woodland. Adults £2.50, children free. 1-6pm.

Crossgates Community Centre, near Scarborough. Yorkshire Pelargonium and Geranium Society annual show. Admission 50p. 1-5pm.

Jordan, Cowcliffe Hill Road, Hade Edge, Holmfirth. Admission £2.50. 1-5pm.

38 Low Street, Haxey, Doncaster. Rockery, herbaceous borders, wildlife pond, orchard. £2.50, children free. 1-5.30pm.

Barwick in Elmet open gardens. Admission by programme £2, available at free car park in Main Street. 1pm-5pm.

Station House, Station Road, Potterhanworth, Lincoln. Haven for wildlife – mixed borders, lawns, ponds. Book stall. Adults £2, children free. 1-5pm.

Darley in Bloom present Darley's Day of Art & Gardens. Admission to the gardens by programme (£4) available at the Memorial Hall from 11am (last admission 4.30 pm). Plus art exhibition and plant sale (free admission to both).

Bishop Burton College Walled Garden. Adults £3.50, under-16s free. Plants for sale. 11am-4pm.

Open Gardens of Snainton. Maps from 14 Station Road, Snainton. Plant Stall at 12a Station Road, Snainton. Adults £3, children free. Noon-5pm.

Guiseley garden wander. Tickets, £3.50, from BHP Hairdressers Whitecross and Otley Road, Guiseley and Jane Tindall on 01943 872281, or from Morrisons car park, Guiseley, on the day. 1.30-5pm.

Sigglesthorne and Seaton (near Hornsea). Family fun day, with open gardens. Programmes £3, children free. 10.30am-5pm.

Wednesday July 1

The Garden House, Saxby, Lincoln. Seven-acre landscaped garden with roses, woodland, wild flowers, herbaceous, pond. Adults £3.50, children £1. 6pm-9pm. Combined with West Barn, formal walled courtyard garden.

Cawood Gardens, near Selby. 9 Anson Grove, Ash Lea and 21 Great Close. Combined admission £5, children free. Noon-5pm.

Regular openings

The Arboretum Trust, Kew, at Castle Howard. Acres of stunning parkland with rare and beautiful trees. Open every day, 10am-6pm. Last admissions 4pm. Adults £5, children £2.50. Café. More information on www.kewatch.co.uk.
