THE Australian grandson of a Yorkshire man who served at a UK POW camp during WWII is appealing for anyone who knew him to get in touch.
Matthew Fletcher would like to be in contact with anyone who knew Bill Fletcher during WWII or afterwards.

Bill Fletcher was an officer in the Royal Pioneer Corps. He served at a UK POW camp near Coventry/Leamington Spa in the years surrounding 1945, possibly as the officer in charge.

He received an MBE in 1940 for service at the camp and the family now believe his home town was Birkby, near Huddersfield.

After the war ended, Matthew's family lost contact with him and are now keen to find out more and re-establish family contacts.

If you knew Bill or his family, Matthew would love to hear from you. Email him at matthewkareen@gmail.com.
