They said it was unexpected... but giving away money in the middle of Leeds is almost guaranteed to generate mayhem.
And that's exactly what happened when radio presenter Richard Williams donned a "coat of cash" and ventured into a crowd of shoppers on Briggate.

Richard, who works for the commercial station Radio Aire, accepted a dare from his breakfast show presenter Simon Logan to dash down the street wearing the coat, which had banknotes pinned across it.

He said: "I never dreamed so many people would be there. It literally stopped traffic.

"I didn't even manage to take one step before I was lying on the ground with people literally ripping the cash and suit off me. It's not something we'll be doing again in a hurry."
