HULL Kingston Rovers have signed 31-year-old St Helens prop Nick Fozzard on a two-year contract.

The former Leeds and Huddersfield forward's career has been plagued by injury and illness – he has made just eight appearances for Saints this year after straining knee ligaments early in the season – and said he was looking forward to the challenge
of joining Rovers.

"It's a great opportunity to join a team who are challenging for Super League honours," said Fozzard. "I'm looking forward to teaming up with Rovers, it will present me with a fresh challenge, one I intend to take with both hands."

Fozzard was in the 2007 Super League Dream Team and won his only Great Britain cap against New Zealand in 2005.

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan said: "Nick has become one of the best go-forward players in Super League and is a handful for the opposition defence.

"With his physical presence he has become a really dominant player over the years."

Harlequins have signed former Widnes centre Mick Nanyn, 26, from Oldham.

Former Leeds, Castleford and Hull KR utility player Dwayne Barker has joined Halifax after being released by Harlequins. Barker, 24, made 10 Super League appearances this year and has signed a 12-month deal.

Matt Adamson, the former Leeds second row, has been sacked as assistant coach to ex-Bradford coach Matthew Elliott at Penrith Panthers.

Adamson joined the NRL club after a spell on the coaching staff at Catalans Dragons, who will look to give their coach Mick Potter a winning send-off tonight in the Australian's last home match before he succeeds Daniel Anderson at St Helens.

The Dragons host Wigan in a televised elimination semi-final which also sees founder players Alex Chan and John Wilson make their last appearances.

"I'm sure there will be a lot of emotion," said Potter. "Alex and John have really made their mark and left a great legacy."

Chan and Wilson played in the Catalans' first-ever match, a memorable 38-30 victory over Wigan in February 2006.

Aaron Gorrell is also leaving – to take up a contract with Brisbane Broncos – but will miss out tonight, with Potter keeping Casey McGuire in the hooking role. Wigan have three-quarters Liam Colbon and Darrell Goulding available after both missed last week's win over Bradford.

In tomorrow's Co-operative National League Two play-off, Oldham host Rochdale for the right to join Doncaster in next week's play-off final at Warrington.

Castleford Tigers are close to agreeing terms with former Leeds and Wakefield prop Chris Feather, who is being released by Bradford Bulls.

Feather will replace Michael Korkidas in the Castleford pack with the Australian expected to join Huddersfield Giants after being released.
