HULL CITY have made an audacious £7m bid for Fraizer Campbell.
The Tigers lodged the offer with Manchester United last night and are hoping to conclude a deal before the transfer window closes at midnight on Monday.

City's hopes are dependant on United securing Dimitar Berbatov's services but chairman Paul Duffen is hopeful that Spurs will sell their star striker before the deadline.

He said said: "We have put a £7m bid on the table and we are in dialogue with Manchester United.

"Obviously, it is still dependant on their own complexities and whether they are able to bring anyone in. It is very simple – if they don't get anyone in then he will not be available.

"We want to make sure we are at the head of the queue.

"We would love Fraizer to come and the confidence I hear around the transfer market is that there is a nine in ten chance of Berbatov signing (for United) over the weekend."

If the deal goes ahead, the £7m fee will shatter the club record set when Anthony Gardner joined City for £2.5m earlier this summer.
