George Boateng remains a doubt with the thigh strain that ruled the veteran midfielder out of last Saturday's draw at Blackburn Rovers.

Team news: Barnsley will have striker Iain Hume and defender Marciano Van Homoet back from suspension to face Derby County.

On loan midfielder Gary Teale is ineligible for the game against his parent club and on loan striker Maceo Rigters is also ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce (elbow), midfielder Anderson De Silva (knee) and goalkeeper Heinz Muller (knee) have still not recovered from longer term injuries but Hugo Colace will make his debut if international clearance comes through.

Team news: Summer signing Darren Byfield could be on the bench for the first time for Rovers after recovering from a hernia operation.
