Northampton Town v
Leeds United

LEAGUE ONE

Leeds United return to the scene of last week's emphatic
FA Cup triumph when they resume hostilities against Northampton Town.
United thrashed their opponents 5-2 at Sixfields to book a second-round trip to Histon next Sunday and followed up that devastating performance with a thumping 4-1 victory over Hartlepool United in front of more than 21,000 fans at Elland Road last S
aturday.

Manager Gary McAllister will be hoping for more of the same from striker Jermaine Beckford, who has scored five times in the last two games, as his side look to keep up the pressure on the promotion front-runners.

United go into the match in sixth place, but find themselves only three points behind current leaders Leicester City, who overcame Scunthorpe United 2-1 on Saturday.

Malcolm Christie will now have to wait to make his second Leeds appearance after being ruled out with bruised ribs, although the defensive pair Alan Sheehan and Paul Huntington could return to the starting line-up after recovering from injury.

Northampton will again be without four key players, with Adebayo Akinfenwa (calf), Chris Doig (hamstring), Abdul Osman (knee) and Colin Larkin (thigh) all missing out.

Giles Coke is fit once more after a knee injury, while Northampton yesterday announced they have extended the loan of striker Scott McGleish from Wycombe Wanderers for a further month.

Last six games: Northampton WLLDLD, Leeds WWLLDW.

Last time: Northampton 2 Leeds 5; November 17, 2008; FA Cup.

Referee: C Foy (Merseyside).
