LEEDS UNITED striker Tresor Kandol is the subject of interest from Millwall, the Yorkshire Post understands.

The 26-year-old moved to Elland Road from Barnet 18 months ago but has not featured for the first team during pre-season due to a combination of illness and Gary McAllister having bolstered his attacking options during the summer.

Sources in south London indicate that Lions manager Kenny Jackett has made an inquiry for London-raised Kandol, though it is not known if his interest is in a loan move or a permanent deal.

Then manager Dennis Wise paid a reputed £200,000 for the striker, who subsequently netted just once in 18 appearances as Leeds were relegated from the Championship.

With Robbie Blake, David Healy and Richard Cresswell departing that summer, Kandol was partnered with Jermaine Beckford at the start of last season and responded by scoring five goals in the opening six games.

He went on to bag a total of 11 goals, making Kandol United's second top scorer behind Beckford even though from November onwards he managed just three in 32 appearances.

The arrival of Enoch Showunmi, Luciano Becchio and Robert Snodgrass has nudged Kandol down the pecking order of strikers but it remains to be seen whether Millwall will follow up their interest with a concrete offer.

One player who does seem destined for the exit door at Elland Road this week is winger Sebastian Sorsa.

The Finland-born 24-year-old has been on trial with Hamilton Academicals and has impressed the Scottish Premier League new boys' manager Billy Reid, who said: "We had a look at Sebastian and decided he fits the bill so we are making a move for him. We have spoken to Leeds and are hopeful it will go through."

Former Finland Under-21 international Sorsa joined Leeds on a Bosman free transfer from HJK Helsinki in January but failed to make a first team appearance.
