The Elland Road club travel to Peterborough looking to make it seven wins on the bounce in league and cup.
Telfer, 37 next month, has played a major part in Leeds's encouraging start to the season and has justified Gary McAllister's decision to of
fer the veteran defender a contract.
The former Scotland international's career looked to be over last January after asking Bournemouth to cancel his contract because he needed a foot operation and did not want to be a drain on the club's finances.
He said: "We have a very young and talented squad, but talking and organisation are important parts of the game and that is something I can bring.
"I couldn't believe our young left-back Aidan White was only 16. I thought he was 18. He is 20 years younger than me but he has everything – attitude, pace and ability – so if he concentrates on his football he has a bright future."
On his own renaissance since joining Leeds towards the end of the summer, Telfer added: "I wasn't sure I would be able to play football again after an operation on my foot.
"I asked the surgeon if I would be able to get my golf shoe on and he said although he couldn't say for sure that I would play football again, he guaranteed I would be able to play golf.
"After surgery I felt really fit so I asked Gary if I could train with Leeds in pre-season and things have panned out really well. I thought it would be a bonus if I could play for another year at a club as big as Leeds."
